CANTERBURY EXECUTIVE MEMEBERS

John Brennan
President

Welcome to our web site. We hope that you find it informative and interesting.

I have been with the Association for almost 10 years, taking over as President in August 2007. I worked as a Systems Analyst in Public Works and Government Services Canada for over 32 years, before retiring in July 2005.

As head of the Association, I have tried to build on the solid foundation left by my predecessor, which recognizes the need to provide our community with expanded programs and services for all age groups, which are affordable, easily accessible and taught by knowledgeable and experienced instructors, and to support and promote the Association’s guiding principle, "for the community, by the community and with the community".

Jennifer Kirk

Secretary

Claude Lamarche
Treasurer

I have been treasurer of the Canterbury Community Association since July 2009.

I am a certified general accountant (CGA) retired from the Canada Revenue Agency since the summer of 2007 after 33 years of service. I worked mostly on the audit programs, helped wit important tax shelter legislation and spent several years in the Rulings Directorate. I finished my career in Headquarters as the manager of the Tax Avoidance Program on loan to the team that helped to merge the Ontario corporate tax system with the federal one. I have a B.Com. from Ottawa U and an MA (Public Administration) from Carleton U.

In my retirement, I am happy to work with the Association to help provide our community with day-care, and recreational, fitness, arts and music courses.

I moved into the Canterbury ward over 25 years ago: my husband and I remained here to raise our family. For a part of this time I was primary school teacher and then a stay at home mom. For our children, my husband and myself the programs at the Canterbury Community Centre has been a big part of our lives. We have been involved in Dance, Tae Kwondo, Fitness, Music and Art classes, to name a few. It is time to be part of the executive to help with the continuation of these valuable programs.
