Craig McLoughlin
Vice President
I have lived in the ward for 15 years and choose the Canterbury area because it appeared to be a mature and well established area. My daughter started attending Tap Dance classes at the Canterbury Community Centre when she was 4 years old. In subsequent years the entire family has participated in many classes ranging from various Dance, Yoga, golf and Taekwondo. The classes have always been both enjoyable and challenging.
In 2009 I joined the Canterbury Community Association Executive as a way of giving back to the community that our family affectionately calls home. Volunteers are critical to ensure the CCA continues to provide quality classes and events to the community at a very reasonable price. It is just my way of giving back.

Jolyne Pepe
Secretary
I have been a part of the Canterbury community for the past 5 years. My family and I have enjoyed and benefitted from the programs offered here and we have met some wonderful people along the way. I decided to join the Canterbury Community Association for several important reasons. To begin, I have over 10 years experience in Developmental Services and I know firsthand how much families in need benefit from the support and generosity of their community members, and more importantly, their area Community Center. I was also raised in a family that believed in and participated actively in community service and volunteering and I learned so much from these experiences. I now have 2 daughter’s of my own, aged 4 and 2, and I wish to instill the same values in them. By participating in the CCA, I can set the example for my kids and also give more of myself for my community. I am pleased to join the Executive Committee as Secretary, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues.

John Brennan
Past President Welcome to our web site. We hope that you find it informative and interesting.
I have been with the Association for almost 10 years, taking over as President in August 2007. I worked as a Systems Analyst in Public Works and Government Services Canada for over 32 years, before retiring in July 2005.
As head of the Association, I have tried to build on the solid foundation left by my predecessor, which recognizes the need to provide our community with expanded programs and services for all age groups, which are affordable, easily accessible and taught by knowledgeable and experienced instructors, and to support and promote the Association’s guiding principle, "for the community, by the community and with the community".

I moved into the Canterbury ward over 25 years ago: my husband and I remained here to raise our family. For a part of this time I was primary school teacher and then a stay at home mom. For our children, my husband and myself the programs at the Canterbury Community Centre has been a big part of our lives. We have been involved in Dance, Tae Kwondo, Fitness, Music and Art classes, to name a few. It is time to be part of the executive to help with the continuation of these valuable programs.

Although work remains quite busy, in 2009 I decided to volunteer on the CCA Board to help support my local community and ensure that the programs offered by the Association continue to be provided.

Member-At-Large I moved into the Canterbury area in the fall of 1997 and have been attending fitness classes at the centre since approximately 1999. I have been employee of the Public Service for the last 18 years within a number of different departments. In my current position I am a compensation and business analyst at National Defence providing advise and guidance to our troops on matters related to their compensation.
